The crimes were first revealed in January 2019 and confirmed what many people already thought about the Kpop scene, especially the one concentrated in the Seoul clubbing districts of Hongdae, Itaewon and Gangnam. Seungri (클럽 버닝썬) was the most visible person involved in the crimes and one of only few punished because there were enough evidences in his mobile phone noticed by a repair technician who gave them to the investigators. He was released from the prison on 9th February 2023 after serving 1 year and 6 months sentence. But rumours say, that the most prominent figures remained unpunished and nothing has really changed in the shady business behind the lavish Kpop lifestyle.

The Taiwanese pop star Jolin Tsai (蔡依林) has recently concluded her Ugly Beauty tour named after her last album. It had been scaled down mostly because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the last tour phase "Finale in Taipei" was quite intimate, looking more like a summary of the pop star's career, not like another big event in her continuing career. So many are in doubt now what comes next.
